"We want to become the largest system of digital data twins!" is how Oliver Ganser sets the direction at the VDA's SME Day on May 17 and 18, 2022. Catena-X sees itself as a rapidly scalable, expandable ecosystem in which all participants in the automotive value chain can participate equally.
The goal: to provide an environment for building, operating and collaboratively using end-to-end data chains along the entire automotive value chain. "How do I get to a Product Carbon Fooptprint (PCF) and how do I get to a Company Carbon Footprint (CCF)?" asks Oliver Ganser to the round of medium-sized suppliers in the VDA, noting that only a few companies are already positioned here. "No new or further standard is to be created, but practical and very fast solutions are to be achieved by the end of 2022!", says Oliver Ganser. Standardized data contacts via the so-called Eclipsed Data Connector (EDC) are to link the supply chain. Oliver Ganser comes from BMW and is chairman of the board of Catena-X e.V.. Catena-X was founded in 2021 by BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VOLKSWAGEN, BASF, ZF-Group, Dräxlmaier, BOSCH as well as SAP, Deutsche Telekom and numerous other companies. We had already reported that Brain-of-Materials is also a member of Catena-X.
